My love of bellydance began at the age of 16 after experiencing the art of Raqs Sharqi first-hand whilst on a trip to Luxor, Egypt.

I was captivated by the music, the costumes and the dancers’ elegance and poise... However, it wasn’t until I was invited to join in that I learned to appreciate the skill and muscle control necessary for the execution of each movement. From then on, I was desperate to learn more about the art form and began attending classes in Arabic dance.

To date, I have received instruction from some of the Bellydance community’s highest calibre performers and teachers including: Randa Kamel, Yasmina of Cairo, Isidora Bushkovski, Tara Ibrahim, Khaled Mahmoud, Jillina, Petite Jamilla, Morocco, Ozgen, Maria D’Silva, Alisia and was recently privileged to sponsor the incredible Sadie from Colorado for a weekend of workshops and a fantastic evening show.

Frequent trips to Egypt have allowed me to gain an in depth understanding of Middle Eastern culture and dance and serve to reinforce my passion for this ancient and beautiful art form.
